Real (A Poem)

I try so hard to be me
but the real me has yet
to even be found.
I walk around like
I know what I am doing
but the reality is
I have no idea.
I just hope no one notices

Notices that I am an insecure,
hopeless, pessimistic that
is just trying to
get by in the world.
With the world at
my fingertips,
turning away at
opportunities
and chances
because that is
what I think I deserve.

Life (A Poem)

We walk through
each day and
continually say
nothings changed.
When in the
back of our minds
we know that
there is so much
more we went
through.
So much more we
want to say.

Feeling frustrated
because everyone
bumps you,
stares at you and
criticizes you till
you feel like you
become less.
Less because
you care.
 Still say
everything is OK,
nothings changed
because it is
easier that way.

Fear (A Poem)

I don't want
To fear being a
Women
But I do.
I am valued
Less and
Fear more.

I fear walking
streets alone
at night.
I fear allys
That lack light.
I fear men
And their
Constant stares.
I fear the idea
That my body is not
The essence of beauty.
I fear the thought
Of my dreams
Being shot.

I fear that
I fear all of
These things.
I fear that
This is normality.
I look outside
And I crumble inside.
I fear to live
My life with
The thought of
Knowing this
Is how it is
Supposed to be.

Reality (A Poem)

I hate when

people look

at me 

and only

see what is

on the outside. 

If this is the

case I am 

a talentless

girl with a

mediocre face, 

But in

reality

I am a 

writer, 

free thinker,

poetess .

With talents

that you

will never see.

I have insight,

on things

that matter.

But most 

people 

won't ask me 

because I

am a 

High School misfit

with a degree 

in dropping out.

Unforgettable (A Poem)

Look in the mirror,

what do you see? 

Every flaw,

Every imperfection

that society tells you to see.

You want to be unforgettable,

like poetry.

But the imagery doesn't fit. 

Walking along the street

what do the people see? 

Only how you appear on

the outside.

Disregarding,

Disregarding what lies

underneath.

Underneath every

unforgettable flaw.

Not knowing

that your story is what lies

underneath. 

My inspiration was cute is what we aim for "lyrical lies"

Misfit (A Poem)

There are so 

many things in life

we can be.

The choices are

endless.

Many of us

get wrapped up

in what we think

we should be.

But miss one 

very important fact.

It's OK to be

the one that no one

understands.

The one that 

walks a different 

path then others.

No one person

is the same. 

That is why

I choose to be

me.

Dear Society (A Poem)

Dear Society,

According you

I'm fat,

A child left behind

covered in flaws. 

We don't live

We survive.

We're on a streak 

of surviving in poverty.

Convinced this

is what we deserve.

Dear Society,

I don't blame you.

Even more 

I don't expect

you to change.

But,

You're the one

covered in flaws.

The reasons why

we're left behind.

Why when we look

in the mirror and 

don't fit your standards

so we often hate ourselves.
