Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: An Unexpected Turn of Events

As Anna looked up at Mr. Jones as she wonders if he is actually worth trusting. Everyone else had made her skeptical on trusting anyone lately. She couldn't hold back her tears for very long,  a few seconds go by and she bursts into tears. There were not enough tissues to handle all her tears. She tells him everything that was going on, about Lincoln, about Greg, about her home life and about all the rumors and how they were not true. She was surprised that he could understand her through all of her sobs. Mr. Jones takes a seat at his desk and says "so is this why your grades are either D's or F's in all of your classes." As she hesitantly nods as he picks up the phone and calls her adviser and tells him what she had just told him. It was only a few minutes until she was shoved into a room with all the advisers and Mr. Jones. They question her about everything, but there main focus was seeing if she wanted to drop out. They were concerned that her grades had fallen so much, that she couldn't come back from it. Anna refused to talk to them about it. The only thing she knew was that she did not want to drop out. It took her advisers a while to figure out what to do with her, it was like she was a nuisance at the school and they didn't want to deal with her anymore. This was a common feeling she was getting from everyone lately. The finally decide to let her last few homework assignments and papers not count, this would raise her failing grades to C's, but if her grades slipped again she would be looking at more serious consequences. Anna agrees just so she could leave. Mr Jones walks her out and says "if you need to take a few days and not go to my class because of Greg that is fine, it will be our little secret." She nods and smiles, this was the first time in a while someone was being nice to her, it was odd, but she wasn't going to argue with it.

For the next few days she was really trying to get her act together and not let her friends bother her. School had to become a priority. That was until Ashley approached Anna on the bus and asked her if she was still interested in making up a dance for the talent show. Anna's first instinct should have been no, but instead she said "I guess, if I have time." Ashley excitedly goes back to her seat and pulls out her phone like she is texting Jenny about it. Anna starts to think that maybe everything was finally starting to calm down, or at least she hopped. She felt her phone buzz in her pocket as she pulled it out she saw it was from Ashley, it read "hey girlie, we are going to practice for the talent show tonight at my place if you want to stop by." She puts her phone back in her pocket and does not respond. If she goes over there that means that she would have to deal with Lincoln and their awful mother.

When Anna's parents get home from work and she tells her mom what is going on and she encourages her to go over to Ashley's house. "You never know until you try" her mother told her. Taking her advice Anna hops on her bike and heads down to Ashley's house and goes the long way of course. About 15 minutes later she finds herself on Ashley's front door step, and knocks on the door, Lincoln answers. Anna wasn't sure why she said "hey douche bag" as soon as she looked at him, but she did find it hilarious, She walks in and Ashley and Jenny are trying to figure out a part of the song on the guitar that she had already mastered. Laughing quietly to herself she walks past them trying to find a place to set up to attempt to choreograph and dance, somewhere with enough room for lots of hand and leg movement, as well as turns. She finds a place next to the kitchen, gets her music all set up and begins. It was going well until Jenny looks at her and says "that's the best you can come up with?" Acting like she can't hear her, Anna continues. She realizes that Lincoln was staring at her from across the room and it was starting to make her uncomfortable. She stops to take a break as Lincoln approaches her. Still hoping for an apology Anna decides to talk to him. It was the most awkward conversation she had ever had, he obviously did not know what to say to her. It ended with her just walking away, but as she is walking she felt Lincoln grab her shoulder and pull her back. As she is hurling backwards she closes her eyes because she did not want to see what was going to happen next. When she finally opened them she was on the floor and Lincoln was about 6 inches away from her face. Giving up on ever having anything good happen to her she just lays there, not knowing what to expect. Looking left and right she was trying to figure out what was going on. Lincoln gets his face even closer to hers and then kisses her, a full on lip kiss. Anna laid there with her eyes wide open while this was going on. She tried to get up but finds herself being pushed back down. Lincoln kept kissing her. She didn't understand why he was doing this, she obviously didn't like it, but that had never stopped him before. Trying to think of something to do she decides to spit on him and quickly get up. As she is getting up he tries to pin her against the wall, she ducts and runs into the living room, where everyone was. She grabs her stuff and heads for the door screaming at Ashley, "I don't think this is a good idea anymore."

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: Reality Sets In

Anna woke up to the birds chirping and walked to the mirror. She looked up and she had black bags under her eyes, it isn't like after an event like that she could of actually slept. She had about 40 missed calls from Ashley and Jenny, but at this point in time she did not care. Surviving this madness was what she spent her time doing, it isn't like they actually cared. If they did, it wouldn't have ended like this. She slams the bathroom door out of rage and the mirror on it breaks. She thinks to herself "Oh well 7 years of bad luck, what's that going to do to me. I am already in hell" and continues walking, not caring about the mess that she left trailed behind her. She grabs her Lynyrd Skynyrd backpack that has about 8 weeks of unfinished papers and homework in it and heads to school. With her life drama, homework was the last thing from her mind.

While at school she kept herself secluded from anyone and everything. People just cause drama. Especially in High School where everyone just wants to fit in, no matter the consequences. Her plan was to become a nobody. It shouldn't be that hard right? She looks up and sees Wyatt and Lincoln leaving an advisers office. At this point all secrets were off as she goes and asks the adviser why they were there. He tells her they were changing schools, they would be attending her school next semester. She falls into a chair as, like she was passing out. The adviser just stared at her confused. She runs out of the advisers office and she kept saying how fine she was because he kept asking. Wishing one of the jocks would shove her into a locker or that she was small enough to fit into her guitar case she finds enough courage to keep going to class. She was forming a collection of failing slips and advisory requests. If it wasn't one thing it was another. Later she ends up in an office with about 4 different people from her school, all advisers or counselors. They kept asking her why she was failing almost every class, how her home life was, if she had thought about dropping out and getting a GED and why there were so many rumors going around about her. She didn't say anything, she was surprised about how fast everyone was giving up in her and gets up and walks out.

Ashley and Jenny were waiting for her by her locker, the one place Anna frequented. Ashley says "so I heard what you did to my brother, my mom is still mad you know. You could have really messed up Lincolns future." It was becoming blatantly obvious that no one cared about her or her future. She pushes them both out of the way and leaves school, she was excused for the rest of the day because of the advisory meeting she was supposed to be in. She puts on her headphones and ignores the world and then she runs into Wyatt and Lincoln outside, Lincoln looks at her, honestly she was kind of hoping for an apology even if he didn't mean it. Those words, I'm sorry, could make everything seem not so bad. He hands her a note and she opens it. It reads,

Anna,
It is better if people see what happened in this way. I have to much on the line to have to deal with this. Also I know you liked it as much as I liked doing it to you.

Lincoln

Anna starts crying, tears up the note and throws it at him right as Jenny comes out and starts making out with Wyatt. Lincoln pushes Anna up against against a tree and tries to make out with her. One of Anna's teachers sees what is going on and intervenes. It was her favorite teacher, Mr. Jones. He pulls Anna up to his classroom that was empty and sits her down, hands her a box of tissues and says "tell me everything, I know something is wrong. You can't hide it anymore.

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: The Unthinkable Happens

Anna heads home after another horrific day at school, nothing can seem to go her way, But little did she know that everything was going good for her compared to what was about to happen. Word had gotten around of what was going on between her and Lincoln. Jenny must have heard her talking to one of her other friends about it. Anna was fed up getting treated the way she had been. She had been sexually assaulted, harassed and been called a slut by almost everyone in school for things she did not do, but for the things that had been happening to her, so she just wanted someone to talk to. She walks in the door and her mom was standing there in stunned silence. She had just gotten off the phone with Ashley and Lincolns mom and they were heading over to there house. Before they got there her mom asks her if everything was true, which it was, but it had been through the grapevine so much that it got twisted into Anna wanting Lincoln to do what he did to her. After Anna explains everything to her mom and tells her why she never told her there was a knock on the door. It was Lincoln and his horrific mom. They enter through the door and she starts screaming at Anna, not caring if what she said was true or not. She accused Anna of being a slut that wanted Lincoln to do this to her, After everything had calmed down the slightest bit, Lincolns mom made Anna apologize to Lincoln for what happened, like she was the assaulter and not the victim in the situation. She did not believe anything that Anna said was true. Lincoln just stood in to corner in silence and let his mom fight his battles for him. The worst part was what she made Anna apologize for... she didn't want Anna to ruin a possible football scholarship for him because of this, even though everything was true. When Anna walked up to him to apologize he looked at her with what seemed like a sympathetic face until he smiles. At this point Anna never wanted to punch someone so hard before. He did this to her and got off with a little smack on the wrist, while she has to live with this everyday. Anna's mom was still in stunned silence by everything that had just gone down. She finally gets up enough words to tell them all to leave. Anna fell into her moms shoulder and cried, for almost the whole night. She had never felt more alone. When she had finally gets a handle on everything she heads down to her room and writes. She did not plan, she put pen to paper and wrote down everything that she had held inside for so long.

My life is a bunch of stories,
some with drama, some with love, some with happiness,
and some that consist of all of the above.
I may not like them,
I may not care.
But I wish somehow,
someone else was standing there.
I look at my life and wonder what happened,

All these years have come and gone
and somehow it didn't take very long.
Shouldn't my life already be a Broadway Musical

being performed by the actors who don't know what happened?

Especially when I received that simple first kiss of such a bliss

or when I lost my dignity to a rumor
that changed my life in an unkindly manor?

I gave up on my life oh so quickly,
frankly it didn't end neatly.
People looked down on me
and began not to trust me,
or even believe in me or the words I say.
My life became part of the unknown.
I lost the battle of life.
During life you can only take so much.
You will gain some
and you will loose some.
But all that you can do is
hold on through the long lively battle of life.

She finally stops writing, throws her pen and screams into her pillow. She was alone and it was at this point that she realized it.

*********************************************************************************************
Hi everyone, it's Amanda or Anna here. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you guys for taking this journey with me. I never thought that I would get such a positive response from me writing about my life. This is part of the story that was the hardest for me to write. I am sorry if I did not go into as much detail as what I normally would, but this is real. I really had to apologize for someone sexually assaulting me, I wish I could say that I was over it since it happened so long ago but this has been the hardest obstacle for me to overcome in my life. I hope that if there is somebody out there that is going through something similar that they will find hope in my writing. Your High School life does not define you, bad things may happen to you, but when you finally graduate you can walk out and know better things will come to you. You just have to hold on through the long lively battle of life.
With love and butterflies,
Amanda (Anna)

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: My interview with The Sullivan Scripter

Hello everyone! Recently I was recently introduced to a young blogger named Justin. He does interviews, stories, articles and podcasts! He was nice enough to interview me about my "Where friendship goes wrong" stories. Since everything I write is based on true events I didn't want to leave anything left unsaid in my interview. Please, please, please check out his page he has lots of good posts up,  http://thesullivanscripter.weebly.com/blog/archives/06-2015
Thanks Justin for all the kind words you said about me! : http://thesullivanscripter.weebly.com/blog/interview-with-amanda-catherine-mandamoonflowerbloggercom

Hello, everyone, it is Justin here again,

About 2 weeks ago, I found this great blog known as mandamoonflower.blogger.com. It details the life of a woman known as Amanda Catherine, the author, along with the struggles, hardships, and positives that go with it. She is a pleasant person, and I highly suggest reading her blog. She writes very from the heart, and that takes a lot in a writer. I thought that while the story itself may repeat itself many times throughout history, this is a very well-written perspective on it. (A few grammar mistakes, but I'm just a grammar Nazi, so oh well) I did an interview on her, and this is what she had to say to my questions. Very interesting responses. My questions are bold, her answers are in normal text. Here they are, just how they came to me via email:

You have clearly been through a lot, at least according to your blog. All of those stories are 100% real, true?
Yes, everything in my story is true. Everything that has happened thus far in my story has happened to me.

Are you in a better place now?
I am in a way better place now. There are some parts of the story that are painful for me to write, but I love writing them to much to stop. I do find love, not only love but true love, I am coming up to that part of the story here soon. Since everything that happened to me happened in High School I never got a great education, I was to distracted with friend and home life drama to care about school. I can honestly say I am lucky to have graduated and because of this I was never able to go to college. I took some college prep classes but nothing ever came from them because even the simplest of topics I still struggle with. I have to start from the bottom and work my way up with everything I do. I was lucky enough to find a great set of friends. They are so amazing that I don't think I deserve them. We love each other and have a great time together. It brings a smile just to my face to say that. You'll often find us playing Dungeons and Dragons on the weekends. I never thought that my life would have gotten as good as it has right now.

For those that haven’t read your blog, you mentioned that you played guitar. Do you still play guitar or another instrument?
After the comment that my friends made to me in "The Chain on Inappropriate Texts" story, I do eventually stop playing. I have that same guitar I played back then and I do pick it up and play "Sweet Dreams" by the Eurythmics every now and then. I have been slowly getting back into it, but when someone you trust says something that harsh to you it can take a while stop thinking that about yourself. The sad part is I was actually really good. I had made it all the way to the advanced lessons when I stopped. I do hope to someday start again and not be fearful of people judging me when I play.

Do you have a specific goal with writing? Like inspiring people, keeping track, or just write for the fun of it?
When I first started writing on my blog my goal was to inspire people. Now my goal is to show people that they are not alone. Everyone is going through something you don't know about, because of this my goal became to show someone who maybe going through a rough time that there is someone out there that they can relate to. Someone who gets it. I hope when my people read my story that they do not feel sorry for me but that they can relate to me and my quirks or actions or even my story.

How long have you been writing for?
I wrote my first poem in 2003 when I was in 7th grade. It's now been 12 years since then and I am still going strong with writing. My writing has definitely improved since then but I like to refer back to my 2003 writing for inspiration a lot. Sometimes it feels like I saw things a lot more clearly back then.

Did you write before starting your mandamoonflower.blogger.com blog?
I did write a lot before starting the mandamoonflower blog. I actually started the blog in 2013 because I wanted to push myself to write more. I had my ups and downs with it at first but I have it figured it now. I know now what I want to write about and how I want to go about it.

Do you have any advice for other bloggers out there?
Don't give up please! There are many times I stopped posting because no one was reading my posts. I had to learn the hard way that when blogging you have to blog for you and not be obsessed with stats. It also took me a really long time to figure out what I wanted to write about, what I wanted my blog to be. At first I knew that I was good at writing poetry so I did that, but I never got what I wanted out of it. I wanted to effect people and writing about flowers really wasn't doing the trick anymore. That's when I started writing my life story and everything clicked. I never thought in a million years that my story would become so popular but I am really glad it did.

I think that she deserves a lot more attention than she is getting. She has clearly learned a lot throughout her life, and it really shows, if you are reading this, Amanda. ;)

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story: Truth or Dare

Anna gets of the bus and starts her walk home, she had the joy in knowing that school didn't let out for another hour or so. On her way home she enjoyed looking at all the pretty clouds and making friends with peoples' random dogs. She volunteered with animals at a local vet hospital so playing with dogs became second nature to her. She heads up to front door and goes inside, her parents worked a lot so they were never home until late sometimes. No siblings either, it was always just her and the dogs. Normally she would make a snack of some sort when she got home from school but she was still so shook up over everything so she did not, she just stared at the clock and watched time get closer and closer to school letting out. She looked at her phone and said "well crap" because school had just let out. Jenny called her first, the conversation was anything but nice. She kept accusing Anna of things she did not do, like have sex with Wyatt, make out with Lincoln...(eeewww), and that she was pregnant, because that was the only reason why she would have left school early. As Anna is trying to explain to her that this was all just in her head while saying sorry about everything she gets at text from Ashley that says "YOU MADE OUT WITH MY BROTHER! How could you!" Anna responds with "uuhhhh check your resources" and continues arguing with Jenny. Jenny would not let it go that she thought that Anna was pregnant with Wyatt's baby now. It was because of this that Anna gets the brilliant idea of asking Jenny if she was pregnant with Wyatt's baby and that's why she was blaming Anna. Jenny then hung up on her. It wasn't the nicest thing that Anna could have done but honestly no one, besides 3 people, were being nice to her lately. Another text from Ashley pops up on Anna phone and her jaw drops..."My resource is LINCOLN" it reads. WHAT! Anna screams. Fed up she rides her bike over to Ashley's and confronts Lincoln about this nonsense. Lincoln opens up the door and says "oh hey I've been expecting you", he continues talking as he walks over to the sofa and invites Anna to sit, She refused to sit as Lincoln keeps talking. Apparently he told Ashley, Jenny that they made out because he wanted his friends to think he was a ladies man. He was anything but a ladies man that's for sure. Anna heads for the door since Ashley will be home soon and says to Anna "You know I have a condom in my wallet, ya interested." She rolls her eyes and continues leaving, at this point in time she did not feel safe with him. He says "well if that's how you are going to be, it isn't a question anymore" and tries to stop Anna. Her message was not coming across that she wasn't interested apparently so she knees him and runs. She knows the neighborhood well so she knew exactly where to go to where he wouldn't see her. After she hangs out there for a while she leaves and makes it safely home.

The next day at school the rumors were finally dying down. It wasn't the most pleasant day, but it was tolerable. She reaches her last class of the day which is guitar. Normally this class would be a bunch of people learning the latest hit song on the guitar but this day was different. Her and her friends had there own room where they practiced the guitar, They were even able to decorate it with pictures of themselves. They were all alone in the room and someone yells out "we should play truth or dare!" Everyone wanted to blow off some steam so hey this sounded fantastic! There was 7 of them in the room, 3 guys and 4 girls. All the dares and truths were really easy nothing to awful, until someone dares Anna and Brian to kiss. At this point in time Anna had never even been kissed before so the thought of it happening in a truth or dare game was a little unsettling. But she figured that it was Brian so nothing to weird would happen, they had one of the better relationships then her and most of her friends so she went for it. "Of course it has to be dark and after lunch" Anna thinks to herself as she stands there super twitchy waiting for it to happen. "At least I just had a bag of chips for lunch and not pizza, otherwise there would be some bad pizza burps up in h...". Anna wasn't even able to finish being awkward when Brian plants a kiss on her that turns into full on making out. It was a little awkward but Anna didn't regret Brian being her first kiss. At least she trusted him and it was consensual. "DING DING" it was the end of school, Anna grabs her guitar to take home since it was the weekend and heads out the door. Brian follows her and says "Hey, I was going to go get the new Disturbed CD that came out, ya wanna go?" Of course she did, it beats going home to an empty house and she gets to ride in his car. They head to Sam Goody and they both end up getting the CD. She had a great time, they both new it wasn't a date it was just a mutual friendship that was based around music.

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story:The Rumor Mill

Heading to class Anna could see everyone whispering to each other, she really didn't know what all the commotion was about. She never thought for one second that they were whispering about her. She was leaving one of her classes and someone had poured Sprite all over backpack and the teacher looks at her say "Well you deserve it." Anna was so confused, for once she was left out of the loop of the rumor that seemed to being going around about her. Later that day Donna approaches her and says "Just so you know Jenny started a rumor that you like to sleep with guys and then say that they rapped you. I know that you would never do such a thing but that's why everyone is being so mean to you." She got a huge knot in her stomach and said "Well, thanks for telling me, I really was wondering." She stumbles outside leaving a trail of Sprite covered papers behind her, she needed to get out of that school as fast as possible. Finally she gets outside and of course Ashley was across the street smoking with what she believed to be the "cool kids". Completely avoiding her Anna sits on the ledge to the school garden and just sits there and waits for the most awkward  conversation between friends to happen. It wasn't to long until Ashley and her "cool friends" approached her. It was no surprise that the first thing that Ashley said to her was "enjoying your day." Well of course Anna wasn't, but there was no way she was going to let her know that. After a few seconds Anna finally figures out what to say back..."My day has been going good. I learned how fast friends can stab you in the back a never care." Ashley looks at Anna confused, like why would she say that to me. Anna could see that Ashley obviously didn't know what all the ruckus was about, she figured what Jenny said was true so Anna was getting what she deserved, just like what everyone else in school thought. Anna looks at her and says "Just so you know Jenny loves starting rumors and many of them if not all of them are never true and the fact that you believe what she said means that you don't even know me at all now leave me alone so I can continue having a fan-freakin-tastic day." Ashley calls Anna a bitch and leaves.

Anna really didn't want to go back into school to finish up her last few classes so she called herself out sick. She sounds just like her mom and her school never really cares, so she took this to her advantage. As she is walking to the bus stop she sees Wyatt get of an incoming bus, he was obviously coming to school to see Jenny. He walks past Anna and laughs. Wyatt had really changed from the guy that she had knew, and it was not for the better. She ignores him and puts her headphones in so no one can easily bother her. She keeps walking and of course her headphones get tangled in themselves so she stops to untangle them when she gets a tap on her shoulder. At this point in time Anna is really on edge just in general so the tap on the shoulder made her almost jump out of her overly priced skater shoes. She stops and turns around and it was one of her other friends. A boy, his name was Brian. They met in guitar class at school. He was 2 years older, they had a weird but good relationship. He says "where ya runnin off to? We have guitar together soon." She explains everything to him and she tells him not to believe a single word he hears from other people about her. If there was one rumor, there had to be more. He laughs and him and his baggy pants walk away. Anna was happy that she had seen him before the rumors had gotten to him. That meant that she at least had 3 people on her side of all of this madness.

Finally safe and sound on the bus she gets a text from Brian and opens it. It reads "hey you, don't worry. I got this" with a picture of her locker that had slut written all over it and him with cleaner to get it off. She can't help but smile as she leans her head on the bus window. At least she has this little bit of peace and quiet until school lets out and her phone blows up with texts and calls from Ashley and Jenny.

Where Friendship Goes Wrong: A True Story:Behind the Story!

I have been getting a lot of questions lately about my story, so I thought today was a good day to tell you about it! Also I am tired and didn't want to write out a full story tonight, so this is as good of a day as any. :) ... But expect a new one tomorrow. <3

1. Is the story real life or fiction?
It's 100% real. I am Anna and this is the story of my teenage life. I kept journals of everything so         I get an idea of how I was feeling at the time and write about it. Every last detail.
2. What about your friends, are the names in the story their actual names?
No, I don't have any sort of contact with the friends in the story anymore but I did want to keep         their real names private. I did use the first letter from their real names for the fake names I gave         them.
3. Why did you hang out with these awful friends, they don't seem like very good friends to me.
I was stupid, that is honestly the best way to put it. I really wanted people to like me so I would           hang around bad people. I wanted to be popular and that was stupid because look at where it             got me. I got me assaulted, constantly torn down and my self confidence was always at 0. I                 wish I was as sassy as I am now then, that would have solved all my problems.
4. When did you all stop being friends
As soon as we graduated from High School, I took it as opportunity to run for the hills from all           of them. Do I regret doing that? Maybe a little, I always hoped that they would change, but I
can say that they didn't. They all got new friends that deal with them and that's great for them. It         gives me peace and quiet to deal with my problems that this friendship gave me.
5. Will I ever stop writing them?
Nope! I haven't even gotten to the juicy details yet.
6.You describe everything in such detail, any hints for my own writing?
Every night I go to my parents house and sit in my old room on my old bed and get into the moment of what was going on. It helps me go back to that moment in time, it helps my writing become real. My advice is to really get into your characters, the more juicy the detail, the better. Don't be afraid to let loose! It makes the reader enjoy your story more.
7. Does anything good ever happen to Anna?
Sometimes, she really gets to shine her senior year of high school. That's when everything comes together and she finally get a break from her awful situations that keep bringing her down.
8. Anna makes better friends right?
Yup, she gets a really group of friends that she never thought she would have. They help her see the beauty in everything in really odd ways and I can't wait to tell you about it.
9. Does Anna always have bad luck with guys?
I high school, yes. It only gets worse from where the story is now. After high school not so much. Currently she is still dealing with being afraid of men in general.
10. Does Anna quit the guitar for good after Ashley's comment.
She doesn't handle it well, but you will have to wait for the next story to find out. I will give you hint...Maybe.
